Kelly Clarkson Pays Tribute to Her Country Roots with Chris Stapleton’s ‘White Horse’ Cover

Kelly Clarkson used her nation origins throughout The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday (March 14), when she handled Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse” throughout her prominent Kellyoke section.

The Texas indigenous carried out the 2023 track backed by her players, passionately called My Band Y’All, worn customized black trousers, covered with a white dress shirt and a silver vest. “If you want a cowboy on a white horse / Ridin’ off into the sunset / If that’s the kind of love you wanna wait for / Hold on tight, girl, I ain’t there yet,” she sings in the carolers.

“White Horse” shows up on Stapleton’s 2023 5th workshop cd, Higher, and was co-written with Semisonic’s Dan Wilson. The cd was generated by Stapleton with Morgane Stapleton and Dave Cobb, and videotaped at Nashville’s RCA Studio A. The 14-song cd functions function from Cobb (guitar, diverse guitar), J.T. Cure (bass), Paul Franklin (pedal steel), Derek Mixon (drums), Morgane (history vocals, synthesizer, tambourine) and Lee Pardini (body organ, piano). The cd debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 cds graph.

Stapleton will certainly be heading to Saturday Night Live as music visitor on April 13, with Ryan Gosling as host, noting the 3rd time he’s functioned as music visitor on the program.
