KATSEYE has once again spoken candidly about bandmate Manon’s ongoing break from the group. In a recent interview with Allure, the members urged their fanbase, EYEKONS, to avoid speculating on the timeline of her return, emphasizing that health and privacy remain the top priority.
In the cover story released this Thursday (June 25), Sophia stepped forward to represent the group—which also includes Megan, Lara, Yoonchae, and Daniela—regarding the status of their absent colleague. HYBE officially announced in February that Manon would be stepping back from professional obligations to focus entirely on her personal well-being.
“We were clear that this is about her health, so it’s not for us—or anyone else—to rush her recovery,” Sophia shared. “We want to grant her the time and space she requires. We aren’t interested in making assumptions or setting rigid expectations. She truly deserves that support, and the door remains firmly open for her.”
Sophia expressed deep empathy for the fans who have naturally been curious about Manon’s status after four months away, acknowledging that the uncertainty has fueled some concern within the fandom.
“People love her, and they love KATSEYE. If I were in their shoes, I’d be asking questions too,” she added. “We hear you. We just hope that fans continue to extend their patience and kindness, because that is something everyone deserves.”
Formed through the HYBE-backed series Dream Academy—a journey later showcased in the Netflix documentary Pop Star Academy—KATSEYE officially launched in 2024. As the group prepares for the release of their Wild EP, featuring the popular single “Pinky Up,” they continue to operate as a five-piece unit while maintaining their support for Manon.
Reflecting on the initial announcement, HYBE previously stated: “Following open and thoughtful conversations, Manon will be taking a temporary leave of absence to prioritize her health. We fully support this decision and remain committed to one another and our fans. The group will proceed with scheduled activities, and we look forward to the day we can all be together again.”
