Jujutsu Kaisen Unveils Thrilling New Preview for Next Week’s Episode

The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen has consistently elevated the bar for anime adaptations, primarily through a visually sophisticated interpretation of Gege Akutami’s original manga. Following last week’s tense installment, “Passion,” which established a compelling psychological clash between Yuji Itadori and Kinji Hakari, this week’s episode, titled “Cog,” provides a masterfully executed resolution to their confrontation.

Studio MAPPA continues to demonstrate its creative ingenuity with fluid, high-energy animation—most notably during the tactical skirmish featuring Kirara Hoshi as they face off against Megumi Fushiguro and Panda. Once Yuji and his companions successfully secure an alliance with Hakari—whose complex cursed technique serves as a chaotic wildcard for the heroes—the narrative shifts focus to introduce Hajime Kashimo, one of the Culling Game’s most formidable participants.

In this brutal tournament, every sorcerer is assigned a Kogane, a small shikigami that acts as an interface between the players and the game’s lethal framework. After Kashimo effortlessly dispatches a rival sorcerer, his Kogane reveals he has already amassed a staggering 200 points. Demonstrating his strategic dominance, Kashimo immediately sacrifices 100 points to implement Rule 9. This new regulation permits players to utilize their Kogane to access detailed dossiers on their opponents, including names, point totals, established rules, and their current colony locations.

Kashimo is set to become a catastrophic threat in upcoming episodes. As a 400-year-old sorcerer inhabiting a modern vessel—a situation mirroring the enigmatic Kenjaku—he possesses immense power and ancient knowledge. Though his screen time in this episode is brief, his fixation on Sukuna is unmistakable. Kashimo’s burning desire to challenge the King of Curses ensures an inevitable and violent intersection with Yuji Itadori’s path.

“Cog” also serves as a prologue to the highly anticipated “Tokyo Colony No. 1” arc. In the source material, this segment covers a dense 13-chapter stretch where Yuji and Megumi finalize their strategy before diving into the fray on November 12. Their mission includes tracking down the mysterious Hana Kurusu, also known as Angel. As the team divides their forces—with Hakari and Panda venturing into Tokyo Colony No. 2 to intercept Kashimo—Yuji and Megumi must navigate a sea of lethal new sorcerers in Colony No. 1, where isolation may force them into unlikely partnerships.

The Culling Game is finally entering its most visceral phase. The upcoming battles within the Tokyo Colonies are among the most brutal in the series, serving as the foundation for Kenjaku’s nihilistic vision to forcibly evolve humanity by merging society with Master Tengen. With the imminent debut of key players like Hiromi Higuruma, Remi, and Hanyu in Episode 7, the stakes have never been higher for a conflict that threatens to rewrite the laws of existence.
