The Expanse: Osiris Reborn Developers and Shepard Voice Actors Back Fan Campaign to Save Mass Effect
Fans saved the show The Expanse in the past. Some now believe they could change the outcome again, this time for Mass Effect.
Electronic Arts recently announced the closure of BioWare. Development of the new Mass Effect game was shut down along with the studio. The news upset some fans of the franchise, and they hope the game can still be saved.
A petition called “#SaveMassEffect” has gathered more than 200,000 signatures in a few days. Owlcat Games took notice, since BioWare’s work strongly influenced many of its developers. The studio is currently working on The Expanse: Osiris Reborn and decided to support the fan initiative:
Fans saved the show The Expanse in the past. That is why the #SaveMassEffect movement has our full support. Please consider signing the petition.
Jennifer Hale, who voices female Shepard, also weighed in and recorded a message:
You know what I dream about? A world where fans come together and launch a Kickstarter campaign, then a couple of investors and a really cool game company join them, and together they bring Mass Effect back to life. For the community, for creativity, for all of us. That would be amazing. That is what I dream about.
Mark Meer, who voiced male Shepard, backed his colleague and also urged fans to sign the petition.
