Judas developers unveiled the main heroine: human or machine?

Ghost Story Games has released a new developer diary explaining how the central character, Judas, was conceived and why she fits the game’s vision so well.

The team initially concentrated on a dynamic narrative — a world and characters that respond to the player’s choices. Only later did they realize they needed a protagonist who exists outside social conventions, someone who understands machines more readily than people.

Thus Judas was born: an alienated figure who struggles to connect with others. Her isolation leaves her exposed, but it also equips her to survive in a setting dominated by conflict and mistrust.

The action unfolds aboard the Mayflower colony ship, with sharply contrasting zones: from elegant VIP cabins to abandoned corridors inhabited by outcasts. Players guide a flawed heroine, and their choices have tangible effects on other characters’ trust and betrayals.

Judas aims to be a game about deep human relationships, where every decision carries weight.
