A large new reissue of John Lennon’s 1971 album Imagine is on the best way. Imagine—The Ultimate Collection spans six discs and 140 tracks, together with demos, outtakes, remoted tracks, a brand new mixture of the file, and an audio documentary monitoring the evolution of every music. The challenge was overseen by Yoko Ono, who wrote the preface of a 120-page e book accompanying the set: “Imagine was created with immense love and concern for the youngsters of the world,” she writes. “I hope you enjoy it.” Below, hear Lennon’s solo piano demo of “Imagine.” Imagine—The Ultimate Collection is due out October 5 through Geffen/UMe.

In addition to the brand new field set, a restored model of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 1972 movie Imagine might be hitting theaters in September. The movie—together with the documentary Gimme Some Truth—might be launched on DVD, Blu-ray, and digitally October 5 through Eagle Vision.
