Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Cast and Logo

Paramount Pictures and Sega have officially pulled back the curtain on the Blue Blur’s next cinematic outing, debuting a title treatment teaser that confirms the sequel is officially titled Sonic the Hedgehog 4. Alongside the name reveal, the studios confirmed that comedy icon Jim Carrey will return as the nefarious Dr. Robotnik, while Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his role as the brooding Shadow the Hedgehog.

The returning heavy hitters will rejoin the franchise’s core voice cast, including Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessy as Tails. The production is also welcoming a wave of new talent; joining the previously announced Kristen Bell as the voice of Amy Rose are industry veterans Ben Kingsley (Wonder Man) and Nick Offerman (The Last of Us). While their specific roles remain shrouded in mystery, their inclusion adds significant prestige to an already star-studded roster.

The teaser serves primarily as a roll call for the cast, but it saves its most exciting reveal for the final seconds. A brief, chilling glimpse at Metal Sonic confirms that a mechanical menace will likely serve as a primary antagonist. For longtime fans of the Sega games, the arrival of Sonic’s robotic doppelganger has been a highly anticipated milestone.
