Chinese director Jia Zhangke, noted for the film “Ash Is Purest White,” is developing a new project — a road movie that unfolds without the use of automobiles. He announced the plan at the Pingyao International Film Festival.
Principal photography is expected to begin in December 2025.
His latest film, the documentary “Generation of Romantics,” was screened at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
