Jelly Roll has always been transparent about his health journey, consistently sharing both his major victories and his vulnerable struggles. In a candid new update, the country star is continuing that tradition of honesty by addressing a recent setback in his fitness goals.

In a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, the singer opened up about regaining some weight in the months following his high-profile Men’s Health cover shoot. “I reached a point where I decided I’d been grinding hard for three years,” he explained. “I told myself I was going to embrace the holidays and enjoy that time.”

“I indulged in the big holiday meals—Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas—and truthfully, I drifted off course,” he admitted. “To an extent, I lost my momentum.”

His progress was further complicated by an unfortunate ATV accident late last year, which resulted in a collarbone injury that sidelined his workout routine for several weeks. While he revealed on camera that the scale has ticked up by about 12 pounds, his focus remains firmly on the future. He is already back in action, incorporating frequent 5K runs into his schedule as part of his training regimen for his primary objective: completing the New York City Marathon this November.

Jelly Roll’s transformation has been a multi-year commitment. Earlier this year, he celebrated an incredible 300-pound weight loss, telling Men’s Health that he had to fundamentally shift his perspective on nutrition. “I started treating my food addiction with the seriousness it deserves,” he noted. “It changed my entire outlook. I began questioning the root cause of my habits—what was I actually eating for?”
