Jason Statham Returns in First Trailer for The Beekeeper 2

Jason Statham returns as super-assassin Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2. The first trailer for the sequel to the 2024 revenge thriller The Beekeeper features Jeremy Irons explaining that the Beekeepers have gone rogue and Clay is the only person who can stop them.

The trailer offers beatdowns, wisecracks, and bee references. Pom Klementieff from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning makes her series debut in the film.

Irons tells Clay that the rogue Beekeepers want complete control of the government and are prepared to kill anyone in their path. Clay responds by dispensing Beekeeper-on-Beekeeper justice using a 1969 Dodge Super Bee equipped with a passenger-side minigun.

The trailer also shows Statham jamming a flamethrower into a henchman’s mouth while delivering the line next time, do not be so hotheaded. The preview is set to the Metallica song For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Who is making The Beekeeper 2?

The Beekeeper was written by Kurt Wimmer and directed by David Ayer, who previously worked with Jason Statham on The Working Man. Wimmer contributed to the screenplay for The Beekeeper 2 before handing duties to Umair Aleem, who wrote Kate. Timo Tjahjanto, known for directing The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays, took over as director. Meanwhile, Ayer still keeps an eye out for updates.

Audiences first saw footage of The Beekeeper 2 at CinemaCon earlier in the year. Because Timo Tjahjanto is known for gore-oriented projects, viewers expected the sequel to increase the intensity level established in the original film.

The Beekeeper 2 is scheduled to premiere in movie theaters on Jan. 15, 2027.
