Jacob Elordi, whose career is currently enjoying a meteoric rise, was slated to join the Cannes Film Festival jury. However, circumstances have shifted; a debilitating foot injury has forced the actor to withdraw from his duties.
Serving as a juror at Cannes demands a grueling schedule of back-to-back screenings, walking the red carpet along the Croisette, and navigating the extensive staircases of the Palais des Festivals—physical feats that are simply untenable for someone recovering from such an injury. Consequently, it was a logical decision for Elordi to step aside. Neither the actor nor his representatives have provided an official comment regarding his absence from the jury.
Notably, this foot injury is not the first time Elordi has had to contend with physical setbacks. During a roundtable discussion for The Hollywood Reporter, the actor previously shared that a back injury once compelled him to abandon his aspirations of a professional athletic career.
