International “Doker” Film Festival Kicks Off in Moscow

From September 3 to 13, the Russian capital is playing host to the 12th edition of the Doker International Documentary Film Festival.

This year’s eclectic lineup features 80 films representing 30 countries, ranging from Australia and Afghanistan to Russia, the United States, and France. The selection includes acclaimed works previously showcased at prestigious events in Venice, Rotterdam, and beyond.

The central themes of the 2026 festival explore the complexities of memory and separation, the dignity of labor, the fragility of our natural and social landscapes, and the intricacies of family bonds. The festival opened with the Spanish documentary “Even If We Are Islands” (pictured), the debut feature by director Cristina Rodríguez Paz.
