It appears that CD Projekt Red has harbored long-term intentions to revisit the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Speculation regarding a fresh expansion for the legendary RPG has recently gained significant momentum, now bolstered by insights from insiders at IGN Poland.
According to these reports, journalists have been aware of the project’s existence for some time but initially opted for silence; since only a single source had confirmed the development of a new Witcher 3 DLC, they chose not to go public until now.
IGN indicates that “multiple signs” point toward the potential DLC being set in Zerrikania—a mysterious human nation located in the southeastern reaches of the Continent, isolated by the Fiery Mountains and the vast Korath Desert.
Zerrikania is a name well-known to series veterans: it is the rumored sanctuary of Letho from The Witcher 2 (provided he survived the player’s choices) and the homeland of Azar Javed, the primary antagonist of the original Witcher title.
Another theory suggests the narrative focus may shift to Ciri, potentially detailing her transformation into a witcher, including an exploration of the Trial of the Grasses and her specialized training.
While some sources speculate a possible release window around May 2026, it is worth noting that the scope of the project may have evolved during its quiet development. If the DLC truly exists, the final content might differ significantly from these early rumors.
