In a Violent Nature 2 Sets 2026 Release Date
Horror fans are in the middle of Spooky Season, but slasher scares remain on tap for the winter. That includes the sequel to 2024’s In A Violent Nature, the microbudget slasher movie that puts a twist on the supernatural serial killer formula.
At New York Comic Con, horror streaming service Shudder announced the release date of In A Violent Nature: Part 2. The sequel continues the story of urban legend Johnny and his killing spree.
Shudder and Independent Film Company revealed at NYCC that In A Violent Nature: Part 2 arrives exclusively in theaters on Feb. 12, 2027.
Ry Barrett returns as the masked killer Johnny. He announced the date after the world premiere of In A Violent Nature: Part 2 at Fantastic Fest in September.
What is In A Violent Nature: Part 2 about?

According to an official synopsis, In A Violent Nature: Part 2 picks up immediately after the events of the first film. It features new victims for Johnny and a deeper dive into the killer’s lore. “Johnny’s violent rampage leads him to a summer camp just as a young, outcast camper is forced to spend the night with his counselor sister and her friends at their annual end-of-season party,” the film’s description reads. IFC and Shudder state that the film pushes the possibilities of extreme kills further with uncompromising gore. Johnny’s signature murder weapon is a rusty metal hook attached to a large chain.
The original film introduces a clever twist on the slasher genre by telling the story from the perspective of its undead villain. “Awakened by some careless teens, local urban legend Johnny (Ry Barrett) proceeds to chase and murder them across the wooded American back country,” Polygon entertainment editor Jake Kleinman wrote in a recommendation of In A Violent Nature. “Johnny never speaks, and large stretches of the movie simply track his slow movement through the forest in what feels like a mix between watching someone else play a video game and listening to ASMR. It’s weirdly relaxing.”
In A Violent Nature: Part 2 is co-directed by Nate Wilson and Chris Nash, who also wrote the script.

Horror fans can watch the original In A Violent Nature now via Hulu and Disney Plus, where the film streams.
