Hyper Light Drifter artistic director leaves Square Enix over cancelled sport

Back in 2016, Hyper Light Drifter’s Teddy Dief joined Square Enix Montreal as a artistic director. However, simply two years later, Dief has introduced his departure from the corporate as a result of venture he was engaged on being cancelled.

On his blog, Dief known as the place “a dream role” and defined he felt his departure deserved an evidence.

“My team were working on a game that I deeply wish we could have shared with you,” Dief wrote. “But the enterprise technique of the studio shifted, and our venture was sadly now not appropriate. 

“Thankfully, the proficient workforce stay employed and valued, assigned to different tasks. Because of this shift and the lack of our venture, I now not really feel that is the place for me to pursue the kind of work I aspire to make – the avenues of storytelling in sport design I’ve been attempting to discover in my profession.”

Dief went on to say he’s returning to Los Angeles and returning full-time indie growth.
