A representative for HoYoverse has reiterated that the Genshin Impact anime was always envisioned as a multi-year, long-term endeavor, advising fans to maintain their patience as the project matures.

HoYoverse has confirmed that the production of the Genshin Impact animated series is actively moving forward and has not encountered any major setbacks. This update was shared by combat system designer Aquaria during the Genshin FES 2026 festival, which recently took place in Shanghai.

According to the developer, work on the project is “advancing steadily,” free from both technical and administrative hurdles. He emphasized that the anime was planned as a foundational, long-term commitment from the start, with its development occurring in parallel with the steady rollout of updates for the flagship game.

The series is being produced in partnership with ufotable, the acclaimed studio behind the massive Demon Slayer franchise. While the collaboration was originally unveiled in September 2022 alongside a stunning concept trailer, a prolonged silence from HoYoverse led to fan speculation regarding a potential freeze or cancellation. This latest statement officially debunks those rumors, confirming that everything is proceeding according to the internal roadmap.

Despite the positive news, HoYoverse is not yet ready to announce a specific release window. ufotable’s production philosophy typically centers on focusing deeply on one major project at a time; given that the studio is currently working on the final trilogy of Demon Slayer films, the exact timeline for the Genshin Impact debut remains somewhat fluid.
