Cosmetics are destined to become your most prized acquisitions in REPO. Once you master the art of hunting down stylish hats, accessories, jackets, denim, and swimwear for your robotic companion, you’ll be the most fashionable entity in the facility—even when the Cleanup Crew descends upon your level. Because these aesthetic items are quite elusive, you might find yourself wondering how to actually secure them.
From quirky mustaches to whimsical hamburger hats, here is how to obtain cosmetics in REPO.
How to acquire cosmetics in REPO
To secure cosmetic items, you must actively locate cosmetic boxes. Much like other salvageable goods, these spawn procedurally, requiring a touch of fortune to uncover. In our experience, they are exceptionally scarce during the initial three levels, but your odds improve significantly from level 4 onward. Keep an eye out for large, boxy containers emanating a distinct, colorful aura. This glow dictates the item’s rarity tier: green denotes common, blue signifies uncommon, purple represents rare, and yellow indicates ultra-rare.

Be mindful that cosmetic boxes sustain damage if dropped or collided with environmental hazards; however, they can be repaired. If a box has taken damage, simply hold the interaction icon on its side to channel your own HP into the container, restoring its integrity at a rate of 10 HP per tick.

Upon extraction, these containers do not yield currency, but rather tax tokens. These tokens act as currency within the in-game shop, where you can exchange them for randomized cosmetic items. The rarity of the tax token will correspond directly to the tier of the cosmetic you receive. To perform the exchange, feed your tokens into the kiosk featuring the Taxman branding, as illustrated below.

Your entire collection is cataloged here across four distinct slots: head, body, arms, and legs. Select a category to browse your unlocked items, and simply click on any hat, garment, or accessory to apply it.
Most cosmetic items also support customization. To adjust colors, look for the small palette icon located in the upper-right corner. You can even use the cosmetics menu to customize your robot’s base appearance—essentially its “skin.” Once you have curated the perfect look, navigate to the “Presets” tab at the top of the interface to save your setup into an available slot for quick future access.
