To craft strong acid in Subnautica 2, you will need to track down several necrolei cysts, a vital ingredient for the tadpole vehicle’s construction. These cysts are surprisingly scarce early in the game, making them easy to overlook if you aren’t certain what you’re searching for.
Here is how to locate necrolei cysts in Subnautica 2.
Editor’s Note: Before embarking on your search, navigate to your character menu and activate all landmark signals. This adjustment makes pinpointing the locations described below much simpler.
Where to find necrolei cysts in Subnautica 2
Image: Unknown Worlds/Krafton via PolygonNecrolei cysts are harvested from unique, spherical green plants that feature long, vibrant pink tendrils. The most reliable cluster of these plants is tucked away in the region between the Lifepod and the Tadpole Pens. They are situated near the first mandatory Angel Comb, relatively close to Wander’s Blackbox. To be precise, look for them approximately 90 meters north of the Angel Comb signal and 300 meters north of Wander’s Blackbox.
Once you reach the plant, equip your survival multitool and strike the sphere to breach it, allowing you to extract the cyst inside. It is highly recommended to harvest every cyst you find; while a single container of strong acid only requires two, the rarity of these plants means you should stock up whenever the opportunity arises.

You can eventually build a power cell terminal within your base to recharge depleted cells, which effectively eliminates the constant need to manufacture new acid.
Keep in mind that you must first locate the processor blueprint and construct that specific machine, as the standard fabricator is restricted to crafting only mild acid.
