As a global icon and a powerhouse member of BLACKPINK, LISA is accustomed to demanding schedules, but even she might have wished for an extra pair of hands to keep up with the pace. At the 2026 Met Gala, she made that wish a reality.
A fresh feature from Vogue, released this Tuesday, offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind LISA’s surreal, avant-garde gala attire. Captured during her final fitting, the video highlights how the artist donned a pair of mannequin-inspired arms—meticulously crafted from a 3D scan of her own body—which functioned like a backpack. The design team then experimented with various jewelry arrangements on the prosthetic limbs to perfect the theatrical silhouette.
“I’m genuinely nervous about tomorrow because these extra arms are surprisingly heavy,” LISA admitted in the clip. “They estimated them at 1.8 kilograms, but to be honest, they feel significantly heavier than that. Still, I’m determined to pull it off.”
The final ensemble featured a sheer white veil elegantly draped and held by the auxiliary arms, creating an ethereal, museum-worthy spectacle that LISA modeled with poise on the Met’s red carpet on May 4. Prior to the big night, she playfully confessed to Vogue, “My biggest fear is tripping tomorrow!”
The entire BLACKPINK lineup graced the 2026 gala, though JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA made their respective entrances independently. This appearance marked the superstar’s second time at the prestigious event, which centered on the theme “Costume Art” under the broader dress code of “Fashion Is Art.”
