Horror Game About Kidnapped Diver Forced to Find Artifacts Released on Steam

Previous researchers failed, and now the protagonist of Nurek (1982) must make the plunge.

Indie developer Raul Meza recently introduced Nurek (1982) for PC on Steam. It is a horror diving simulator about a diver who is kidnapped by a mysterious organization that intends to use him to search for ancient artifacts.

Set in the 1980s, the game takes place in a world where a communist government is obsessed with controlling the population, food supplies, and land and sea resources. During an expedition near a cave system hundreds of meters underwater, gold statues were discovered, and Operation “Nurek” was launched to explore the find.

The first research attempts failed because they led to personnel losses and caused environmental anomalies. However, the operation was not shut down, and the search continued. Now, the kidnapped diver protagonist must set out to find ancient artifacts.

Upon waking, you will discover your only source of human contact and connection to the outside world: the government organization that brought you against your will to a depth of hundreds of meters underwater in an unknown location on Earth. Upon receiving instructions, you will gain access to a hatch leading to a place where few dare to tread, which is where you must carry out your mission.
