A prominent Honkai: Star Rail leaker has found himself in the crosshairs of the developer’s legal team.
HoYoverse (miHoYo) attorneys have successfully navigated a legal battle against an HSR insider responsible for unauthorized disclosures concerning the character Castoria.
Originally, the developers sought damages totaling $156,600 for what they characterized as “copyright infringement.” However, the judicial system ultimately delivered a far more lenient verdict than requested.
The case was adjudicated in a California state court, where the judge ordered the defendant, Alfredo Lopez, to pay a significantly reduced fine of $16,500.
There is, however, a notable complication: the defendant failed to respond to the summons or appear in court, resulting in a default judgment. As a result, it remains unclear how the plaintiffs intend to actually collect the awarded sum.
