Hearts of Iron, but About World War I: Grand Strategy “Fields of History: The Great War” Announced
The developers are building a realistic map and preparing more than 300 diverse units and pieces of equipment.
Recently, publisher Slitherine announced Battleplan — a potential rival to the well-known Hearts of Iron IV. Now another analogous project has come to light.
MicroProse Software has stepped forward to reveal Fields of History: The Great War.
Wolferos Production presents a different setting: this grand strategy takes place during the First World War.
Otherwise, the concept and mechanics should be familiar to fans of Hearts of Iron IV: you choose a nation and manage its political, economic, technological, and military affairs.
The creators promise a realistic 3D world map containing over 10,000 provinces that “accurately reflects the geographic, topographic, and meteorological conditions of the early 20th century.” There will also be espionage and covert operations mechanics — enabling sabotage, uprisings, and technology theft.
No release date for Fields of History: The Great War has been announced yet; you can add the game to your Steam wishlist via the following link: Steam store page.
