The initial tease for season 2 of Vivienne Medrano’s A24 adult animated phenomenon Hazbin Hotel hinted at tone more than plot, but the full trailer has arrived — and it makes clear that Medrano and Spindlehorse Animation are zeroing in on the characters, rivalries, and plot threads that fans have been dissecting since season 1 premiered in 2024. Vivienne Medrano and the team appear to be answering many of those questions while expanding the world in dramatic ways.
The trailer ramps up the stakes: there are hints of an outright war between Heaven and Hell, an intensified showdown between Radio Demon Alastor and TV demon Vox, and a glimpse of Lucifer Morningstar leaning into a more authoritative, demonic father figure role. It also foregrounds the series’ musical core — something recent musical trailers have often downplayed — and, most intriguingly, teases the possible return of Adam, the Season 1 antagonist. Whether Adam’s revival is literal or something more complicated tied to the show’s rules about mortal souls in Heaven remains an open question. See the trailer for the full context.
Season 1 followed Charlie Morningstar (voiced by Erika Henningsen), Lucifer’s idealistic daughter, whose Broadway-sized numbers and relentless optimism drive her campaign to end Heaven’s periodic purges of Hell. The campaign achieved mixed results: Charlie proved angels could be opposed, and Heaven pulled back — but that vacuum allowed opportunists like Vox (portrayed by Christian Borle) to strengthen their hold and manipulate events for their gain. The season 2 preview suggests Vox will escalate tensions and stoke conflict even as some factions in Heaven explore reconciliation.
Hazbin Hotel season 2 debuts on Prime Video on October 29, 2025.
