Ever since Bungie revolutionized the military science-fiction genre with Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox in 2001, the franchise has blossomed into a massive multimedia universe. Alongside the debut of the iconic video game came the very first tie-in publication, Eric Nylund’s The Fall of the Reach. Over the years, this expansive sci-fi saga has grown to encompass more than 30 novels crafted by a diverse lineup of talented authors.

Beyond the extensive library of novels, the franchise features captivating graphic novels and more than a dozen acclaimed video games. For dedicated fans eagerly awaiting their next journey onto the legendary ringworld, thrilling news is on the horizon. Published by Gallery Books and penned by New York Times bestselling author Tim Lebbon, Halo: Parasite’s Wake arrives in stores in just two weeks on October 20. Lebbon is celebrated for his award-winning dark fantasy, thrillers, and horror works like The Silence, alongside masterfully crafted novelizations for major entertainment properties including Alien, Hellboy, and Firefly.

Set in the harrowing year of 2552, Parasite’s Wake unfolds in the chaotic aftermath of Reach’s tragic fall to the relentless Covenant armada. The human vessel UNSC Pillar of Autumn manages a desperate slipspace escape, ultimately discovering the mysterious megastructure known as Halo. Stepping away from Master Chief John-117, the narrative shifts its focus to Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto. He finds himself commanding an eclectic and volatile platoon of imprisoned deserters, convicts, and outcasts who miraculously survived the ship’s crash. Mobuto must maintain order among these hardened criminals while fending off fanatical Covenant forces, all while an even more horrifying danger stirs deep within the subterranean depths of the ring.

With the release date rapidly approaching, enthusiasts only have a brief wait left before diving back into the timeless intrigue of the Halo universe when Halo: Parasite’s Wake officially hits shelves.
