Hades 2 enters OpenCritic’s top 10 games of all time

Hades II continues to surge in popularity, recently solidifying its position within the top ten highest-rated video games of all time according to OpenCritic.

Although it didn’t secure the “Game of the Year” title, the project remains the definitive premiere of 2025 for many players. Its critical standing on OpenCritic recently climbed from an already stellar 94 to a landmark 95 points.

Supergiant Games’ latest roguelike masterpiece has long held its ground as the top-rated title of 2025, outperforming heavyweight contenders such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (92), Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Donkey Kong Bananza (91). Following a fresh wave of glowing reviews, Hades II now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with industry icons like Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, Astro Bot, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

This 95-point milestone on OpenCritic has propelled the game to the ninth spot in the platform’s history. While it mirrors this 95 score on Metacritic, a higher volume of reviews places it just outside the top fifty on that specific platform. Looking ahead to 2026, the arrival of new console ports and subsequent reviews may further elevate its historical standing.
