The new Spider-Man film arrives in a few weeks, but it already tracks to be the biggest opening of the year.
Spider-Man: A New Day has achieved its first milestone before hitting theaters. Deadline reports that ticket presales are the strongest seen in five years. The last film to generate similar demand was Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. That movie sold $78 million in tickets before release and went on to record the third-largest opening in history, trailing only Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
While the studio has not released specific presale figures for Spider-Man: A New Day, analysts expect it to set the pace for the year. Projections suggest the film will easily cross $200 million during its domestic opening weekend. This performance would surpass recent hits like Toy Story 5 and rival the $211.4 million opening of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Spider-Man: A New Day opens on July 31, 2026.
