GTA Creator Isn’t Backing Down — MindsEye Gets Major Update: 150+ Changes and a Free Game Mode
Leslie Benzis’s studio shows no signs of slowing down and keeps polishing its creation.
Build A Rocket Boy has rolled out the sixth major update for the action title MindsEye. The patch delivers over 150 tweaks and fixes across combat, vehicles, enemy AI, visual effects and overall performance.
One of the primary focuses was a combat overhaul. The team improved weapon accuracy, increased ammunition reserves, refreshed firing and hit animations, and added both a dodge mechanic and greater camera positioning control.
Artificial intelligence also received significant attention. Enemies respond to threats more quickly, fight more effectively from cover, and NPCs in locations now interact with the player more frequently. Opponent behavior is now tailored to mission types, and updated animations make reactions feel more natural.
Vehicles saw major refinements as well. Flying craft now follow a physical simulation model, collisions have been enhanced, random path blockages were fixed, and there’s now an option to skip prolonged journeys.
The visual side was improved, too. The patch corrects texture and lighting issues in cutscenes, adds facial expressions for background characters, and enhances lighting, reflections and weather effects. The developers also report noticeably more realistic body physics.
Missions now include additional save points and checkpoints, reducing repetition after failures. Several story sequences received extra hints and refreshed interface elements. The UI has been refined: weapon and ammo icons were redesigned and new markers were added to menus.
Game performance has improved as well: character and vehicle physics were optimized, crashes and freezes were addressed, and mission load times shortened. According to the studio, MindsEye is now significantly more stable and responsive.
Alongside the update, Build A Rocket Boy released a MindsEye demo in a “starter kit” format. It includes one story mission and access to the ARCADIA platform with an additional 14 missions — ranging from combat encounters to land and air races.
Thanks to the updates, the game’s rating is gradually recovering: recent reviews are already “mostly positive.” The full list of changes is available via this link.
