A few months ago, Take-Two Interactive launched a crusade against mod creators to clear the exit disastrous reissue of GTA: Trilogy… We supported our GTA colleagues with our statement, and by some miracle escaped the attention of the greedy publisher of T2.
Yesterday GTA.COM.UA received a DMCA strike from Semyonov & Pevzner LLC, which represents the interests of Take-Two Interactive, a member of international association of the entertainment industry (ESA).
These kites pounced on the modification for GTA 4 – The Lost and Damned Unlocked, which turned Niko Bellic into Johnny Klebitz and offered to use the appropriate attributes of a biker. At the moment, the modification is no longer available for download.
In addition, two more modifications were sanctioned by Take-Two Interactive – saving for The Lost and Damned and GTA III Advance (they are not in our file archive). Considering that Zelnik’s company in the first wave cleaned out global modifications for the original GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, then the recent rumor about the release of a reissue of GTA 4 in 2023 https://gta.com.ua/news_details.phtml?news_id=3137 may not be just a rumor.
To end this sad news for the entire GTA modding community, I would like to see the famous expression of Trevor Phillips from GTA 5:
