As the nation gears up for its 250th anniversary, a star-studded lineup—including Martina McBride and Flo Rida—has been revealed for a massive summer celebration.
Freedom 250, the nonpartisan group spearheading the festivities, announced on Wednesday (May 27) that the “Great American State Fair” will span 16 days. The event is set to host an impressive roster of performers, such as Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Young MC, C+C Music Factory, Morris Day & The Time, and Bret Michaels, all joining McBride and Flo Rida. The patriotic showcase will transform the National Mall in Washington, D.C., from June 25 through July 10.
“This initiative aims to unite all 56 U.S. states and territories in a grand, World’s Fair-style experience,” according to the organization’s official event portal. “It is a rare chance for citizens across the country to immerse themselves in a tribute to the diverse traditions and people that define America.”
Beyond the musical performances, the fair will feature carnival-style amusements and dedicated regional pavilions highlighting the unique culture of each state and territory. This D.C. gathering serves as the grand finale for a broader, year-long series of state fair activations across the country, which President Trump described last year as the “greatest birthday party in American history.”
The 250th-anniversary program also includes the “Patriot Games,” a competitive athletic tournament featuring high school representatives from every state. Admission to the Great American State Fair in Washington is complimentary; registration is available online.
