Grand Theft Auto VI developers blocked game IDs in the PlayStation Store – some managed to “play” before release
Developers have moved to address a significant loophole within the system.
Recently, data miners discovered that specific product identifiers for Grand Theft Auto VI had surfaced on the PlayStation Store. It didn’t take long for enterprising players to find a way to exploit this discovery.
By taking advantage of a glitch linked to these game IDs, users were able to inject entries into their public profiles, creating the false impression that they had already spent time playing the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI.
Rockstar Games quickly caught wind of the situation and coordinated with Sony to seal the vulnerability in the PlayStation Store:
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently slated for release in late 2026. Official pre-orders have not yet been made available to the public.
