Cosplayer Recreates Dark Urge From Baldur’s Gate 3, Bloodied Child of Bhaal (18+)

Model Maria “Lady Melamori” Davydova has cosplayed as the Dark Urge from Baldur’s Gate 3, a version of the character who stopped fighting the voices in his head and chose to spread chaos, reveling in the suffering of others.

Many players of the RPG Baldur’s Gate 3 praised its meaningful variety, where player decisions shape a unique story path. The developers at Larian Studios built a complex system that unlocks many good and “bad” endings.

Photographer Margarita “Dzeta” Ishmaeva shot the session, in which cosplayer Maria “Lady Melamori” Davydova appeared as the Dark Urge. Unlike premade characters such as Astarion or Shadowheart, the Dark Urge is fully customizable in appearance, so players can choose any race, gender, and class.

The Dark Urge is a mortal who carries the essence of Bhaal, the god of murder. Before losing his memory, this character led the Cult of Bhaal in Baldur’s Gate and was the chief architect of the entire conspiracy involving the Absolute.

Playing as the Dark Urge offers unique mechanics. These include exclusive dialogue with companions, entirely new story cutscenes, and a personal servant named Sceleritas Fel, who pushes the hero toward further evil deeds.

Carrying out brutal orders rewards the hero with powerful bonuses. Examples include a cloak of invisibility after the first kill and the ability to transform into a terrifying multi-armed monster, the Slayer.
