Gorillaz Debuts ‘House of Kong’ Pop-Up Experience in Los Angeles Ahead of New Album

As the hype surrounding their upcoming studio album The Mountain reaches a fever pitch, Gorillaz have officially launched a curated retail experience in the heart of Los Angeles. The House of Kong LA Gift Shop is now welcoming fans, offering a deep dive into the band’s visual history through exclusive merchandise and rare collectibles.
Located at 1005 Mateo St. in Downtown LA, the pop-up is free to the public. Through Wednesday, fans can visit between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM PT. Starting Thursday and running through March 19, the shop will extend its hours, operating from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
The inventory features a broad spectrum of Gorillaz memorabilia spanning their entire discography, including bespoke apparel, intricate jigsaw puzzles, comic books, and commemorative mugs. Exclusive items tied specifically to The Mountain are scheduled to hit the shelves this Friday, coinciding with the album’s global release. As a bonus for long-time followers, the shop also features the original 1969 Chevy Camaro from the iconic “Stylo” music video for a unique photo opportunity.
This retail space acts as a prelude to the House of Kong Exhibition LA, an ambitious audiovisual installation conceptualized by band founders Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett in collaboration with creative director Stephen Gallagher. The exhibition first captivated audiences in London in late 2025 before arriving on the West Coast.
The animated collective is currently on a hot streak in Southern California, having just completed two sold-out nights at the Hollywood Palladium. During these performances, they treated fans to a front-to-back live rendition of The Mountain, their ninth studio project and follow-up to 2023’s Cracker Island. Looking forward, the band is set to make their highly anticipated Saturday Night Live debut on March 7, hosted by Ryan Gosling.
