Gollum and WRC Publisher Faces Financial Difficulties, Suspends Stock Trading

Severe financial turbulence at its parent company has adversely impacted Nacon, prompting a provisional halt in the trading of its shares on the open market.

Nacon is widely recognized for its high-performance gaming peripherals and PC accessories, as well as its role as a publisher overseeing several development teams—including the creators of the WRC racing series and the notorious The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

The firm is a subsidiary of Bigben Interactive, which is currently grappling with significant liquidity issues as it struggles to repay a €43 million debt to its bondholders.

This sudden suspension of stock activity is a precarious indicator that often precedes insolvency, a hostile takeover, or the potential dissolution of various studios within the Nacon and Bigben portfolios. Representatives for Nacon have indicated that a formal update will be issued in the coming days once the market freeze is rescinded.
