German Retailers Limit RTX 50 Sales: Shortage Hits Europe

Comment Views: 39

Retailers in Germany are being forced to restrict or entirely halt sales of RTX 50-series graphics cards as inventories hit critical lows. With distributors unable to fulfill orders for flagship models, strict purchase limits are being imposed on the remaining stock.

According to a European vendor on Reddit, a major German distributor has officially ceased sales of the RTX 5070 Ti, 5080, and 5090. Consequently, all existing backorders and new orders placed after December 30 have been voided. The vendor cautioned that the scarcity will likely lead to a sharp spike in market prices in the near future.

Amazon Business has also begun capping the number of units allowed per transaction. While high-end models currently remain available to individual consumers through online storefronts, the supply chain pressure is becoming increasingly evident.

This supply crunch mirrors a similar situation in Japan last week, where local retailers were compelled to introduce buying restrictions. A widespread memory shortage is directly impacting the GPU market, driving up manufacturing costs. Compounding these issues is NVIDIA’s earlier statement regarding plans to throttle RTX 50 production in 2026, alongside growing speculation that the rumored RTX 50 Super refresh may be canceled altogether.
