Geralt’s Hansa Searches for Ciri in New The Witcher Season 4 Trailer

The Witcher edges closer to its penultimate chapter, and a fresh trailer released Tuesday offers a first look at where this season will take the characters.

Following the events of season 3, which left Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri scattered, the new trailer follows each on separate paths. Ciri (Freya Allan) has joined the Rats, a ruthless band of youthful outlaws, while Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) is assembling a cadre of allies to confront the malevolent mage Vilgefortz.

Geralt (Liam Hemsworth) and Jaskier (Joey Batey) forge new alliances across the Continent as they search for Ciri. The witcher’s Hansa now includes archer Milva (Meng’er Zhang), the enigmatic Regis (Laurence Fishburne), and other figures that readers of the books will recognize with anticipation.

This trailer gives a fuller look at Liam Hemsworth in the role after September’s teaser highlighted him battling a wraith. Hemsworth steps into the character following Henry Cavill’s departure from the series; he recently told Entertainment Weekly that Geralt is “not in a good place” — physically injured and wrestling with unfamiliar self-doubt — even as he remains determined to set things right.

Viewers won’t have to wait much longer: season 4 of The Witcher arrives on Netflix on Oct. 30. If you’re looking for something to tide you over, there’s also a new Witcher novel exploring the early exploits of a young Geralt of Rivia.
