Gears of War: E-Day Enters Top 3 Most Popular Games on Xbox
Gears of War: E-Day was the third most-played game on Xbox consoles in North America, ahead of NBA 2K27, Minecraft, and Call of Duty.
According to Circana data published by analyst Mat Piscatella, only Fortnite and Roblox ranked higher. Both games have drawn huge audiences for years and receive regular updates.
The ranking reflects player activity, not sales. Circana tracks a sample of users in North America, and E-Day’s result may have been influenced by its availability on Game Pass.
Other new releases performed more modestly. Star Wars: Galactic Racer, which critics have rated highly, reached only 15th place on Steam. On PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it did not make the top 100 most-played games.

Meanwhile, ARC Raiders returned to the top of the charts after its free Frozen Trail update brought many players back. Breaking through among big live-service games is getting harder. Gears of War: E-Day has so far managed to hold the audience’s attention.
