Cosplayer Recreates Shiromuku Look From Silent Hill f

Cosplayer Viktoria Gordeeva has transformed into Shiromuku from Silent Hill f, a sinister entity that wants to lead Hinako out of the real world and into a realm of eternal fog. There, it would end her earthly suffering for good in a nightmarish union.

Some players praise the survival horror game Silent Hill f for its story, visual style, and endings. Others criticize its gameplay and combat, along with its break from the aesthetic of the classic four-game series by Team Silent.

Photographer Sasha Mifetis prepared the new shots specifically for fans of the game. During his photo shoot, Gordeeva appeared as Shiromuku.

Shiromuku is the frightening embodiment of the suppressed fears of high school student Hinako Shimizu, and the protagonist’s sinister otherworldly alter ego. The final boss of the first playthrough looks like a tall, majestic, and eerie figure in a pure white wedding garment. Her design draws on the yūrei, the ghosts of Japanese folklore.

The character carries deep symbolism woven into the social context of 1960s Japan. Shiromuku embodies Hinako’s panicked fear of growing up, of a forced marriage to cover her parents’ debts, and of imposed gender roles.

The white of her kimono metaphorically signifies the girl’s “death” to her birth family and her complete submission to her husband’s clan. Shiromuku’s behavior combines arrogant, cold cruelty with melancholic grace.

She moves slowly and smoothly, as if performing a ritual dance, but erupts into furious, aggressive strings of attacks the moment she closes in. According to entries in the in-game diary, the monster looks down on Hinako and does not acknowledge her human existence at all. At the same time, it feels a deep, haughty pity for her.
