Gaming PC saves a child’s life. Reddit asks: “is the RAM okay?”

In a startling incident in the United States, a gaming PC appears to have saved the life of a three-year-old boy. Reddit user “theonlyalankay” shared harrowing evidence of the event, posting photos of a bullet hole lodged in the computer’s fan grille along with a shattered window.

“The PC intercepted the bullet and saved my child’s life.”

Multiple shots were fired at the home from the outside. One projectile breached the living room, passing just inches from where the boy was playing with LEGO bricks near the computer tower.

“The angle, the timing, and my son’s exact position could have easily resulted in a tragedy. If it hadn’t been for that PC, it would have been a matter of mere centimeters.”

Police recovered three bullets at the scene: one in the exterior wall, one in the doorway, and the third embedded in the computer case. While a clear motive has not been established, the father suspects a former partner who had reportedly violated a restraining order.

Reddit users responded to the news with a mix of relief and typical dark humor:

“Is the PC okay? And more importantly… did the RAM survive?”

Remarkably, “theonlyalankay” confirmed that the computer is still operational. While the chassis was pierced, the vital internal components remained unscathed. Only a single fan needs to be replaced; the motherboard, GPU, CPU, and RAM all emerged from the incident undamaged.
