<p>The Grammy-winning superstar is headlining a high-energy campaign for Chili’s, featuring a bold, reimagined rendition of the classic “Baby Back Ribs” anthem. The commercial, which dropped Wednesday (May 27), showcases the singer in a whimsical, over-the-top setting, complete with a rib-inspired flute. It’s a full-circle moment for the artist, who previously championed a vegan lifestyle—a transition she navigated with transparency and grace.</p>
<p>Looking back at her decision to reintroduce meat into her diet in late 2024, Lizzo admitted she was initially apprehensive about how her fanbase might react. "I’m very conscious of how I share personal shifts with the world," she explained. "I was nervous about disappointing those who looked up to my vegan journey. However, being honest back then was vital. If I hadn't been transparent, seeing me today—enjoying ribs and playing a rib-themed flute—might have felt jarring. Now, there’s no confusion; everyone understands where I’m coming from."</p>
<p>The partnership itself blossomed from a viral moment: Lizzo’s playful Halloween costume last year, where she dressed as a Chili’s mozzarella stick. "I suspect that's what caught their eye," she laughed. "They must have realized we were a perfect match."</p>
<p>Beyond her musical prowess, Lizzo describes herself as a total foodie at heart. "If I weren't an artist, I’d probably be a professional mukbanger," she joked. "This project is really about celebrating my love for food and having a bit of fun."</p>
<p>For the campaign, Lizzo dove into the archives, studying legendary versions of the jingle by *NSYNC and Boyz II Men to craft her own signature take. "I remember the *NSYNC version being so dramatic and ballad-like," she recalled. "I wanted to bring that same level of intention to my verse, which came together incredibly fast."</p>
