Greetings, Cities: Skylines Enthusiasts,
Since the launch of the Detailers patch, we’ve dedicated the last five months to developing the Bridges & Ports DLC and preparing for our anticipated release. After thorough evaluation and sharing it with our early access group, the feedback remains consistent: the bridges are thrilling, and the port functions seamlessly, yet some elements of the expansion could benefit from further refinement.
This led us to a challenging decision: should we delay the release to enhance depth, or proceed as planned, aware it might not fully meet expectations? We believe the existing content is enjoyable, yet we acknowledge its gaps. To elevate it to the standard you deserve, additional time is necessary.
The complimentary update originally slated to accompany Bridges & Ports will now launch on June 11th, offering a glimpse of the forthcoming expansion. During this time, we’re considering feedback from our early access group and outlining improvements for the expansion’s launch, now anticipated in Q4 of this year.
In spite of this, the expansion is still a remarkable addition, and we are eager for what it will contribute to your city. We simply want to ensure it aligns with your well-earned high expectations.
The complete patch notes for the free update will be released on June 11th, along with the patch itself. Meanwhile, here’s a preview of the free assets designed to enhance your waterfronts.
Featuring the Combination bridge:
- Four-Lane Highway Double Train Track Double-Decked Extradosed Bridge
- Double Train Track Truss Arch Bridge
Piers are shoreline/harbor assets crafted using net tools, divided into leisure and industrial piers.
Quays enhance city shorelines aesthetically. They can be adorned with trees, and piers can connect to them. The Container Crane is designed for placement over the Cargo Port Quay, which is built wider to accommodate Reach Stackers. Like roads, buildings can snap to quays when the zoning grid is visible.
