Fox Releases First Trailer for Baywatch Reboot

Fox is launching a Baywatch reboot, and the first full official trailer shows hot bodies, action, drama, slow motion, and Megan Thee Stallion. The series premieres in January 2027.

The Baywatch trailer indicates that Fox keeps the mold of the original 1989 show. The footage highlights a plot where a plane crashes into the water and lifeguards rescue the pilot from the ocean floor.

Stephen Amell from Arrow leads the new series as Hobie Buchannon. This character is the son of David Hasselhoff’s role from the original series. Hobie works as the Baywatch captain, keeps the beach safe, and deals with his estranged daughter Charlie Vale, played by Jessica Belkin. The trailer features a burning beach, a large explosion, and lifeguards running in slow motion. Musician Megan Thee Stallion makes a brief appearance after filming a cameo earlier in the year.

Who is in Fox’s Baywatch reboot?

The cast features Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, Livvy Dunne, and Brooks Nader. David Chokachi from the original Baywatch holds a recurring role. Fox and Fremantle produce the series, with Matt Nix from Burn Notice acting as showrunner and executive producer.

The original Baywatch debuted in 1989 with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Guinness World Records lists the series as the most-watched television series of all time. The original show ran for 11 seasons and produced a spin-off titled Baywatch Hawaii. Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron later led a comedic film reboot.
