Forrest Frank Brings Hits and a Heart for Worship to Nashville’s ‘The Jesus Generation’ Show

“Who is ready to say, ‘Send me, Jesus?’” With this stirring call to action, contemporary Christian artist Forrest Frank ignited a massive, sold-out crowd at Nashville’s GEODIS Park this past Friday (June 19). Kicking off his highly anticipated The Jesus Generation Tour, Frank showcased his unique ability to bridge the gap between high-energy pop anthems like “Your Way’s Better” and “Celebration” and profound moments of corporate worship.

Rising to stardom as part of the pop duo Surfaces, Frank has successfully pivoted into the Christian music stratosphere by masterfully blending hip-hop influences with a modern, social-media-savvy promotional approach. This strategy has resonated deeply with a younger demographic. His 2024 breakout album, Child of God, dominated the Top Christian Albums chart for weeks, while his 2025 follow-up, Child of God II, secured the No. 1 spot on the Christian charts and climbed to No. 12 on the Billboard 200.

The atmosphere at GEODIS Park was electric, filled with families and youth groups synchronized by color-changing LED wristbands. Following the massive success of his previous sold-out arena run, Frank’s transition to the 21,000-capacity open-air stadium feels like a definitive milestone. Supported by fellow performers Tori Kelly, Cory Asbury, and The Figs, Frank’s nearly two-hour performance solidified his standing as a powerhouse in the CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) scene.

Throughout the evening, Frank balanced his chart-topping hits—including his latest No. 1, “Jesus Is Alive!”—with poignant reflections. He took a heartfelt moment to honor his late grandparents, sharing intimate stories about their spiritual influence. “My grandmother was a prayer warrior,” he recounted, explaining how her “heavenly language” helped shape his faith. This emotional vulnerability set the stage for a debut performance of his unreleased track, “Somebody Prayed.”

The concert’s production was equally intentional, featuring a stage designed as a grassy hillside centered around a massive illuminated cross. Frank maintained a deep connection with the audience, venturing into the crowd to reach a satellite stage at the back of the venue for an intimate acoustic set. He even provided a rare behind-the-scenes look at his creative process, opening his laptop to deconstruct his songwriting methodology for the fans.

The show reached a crescendo as Frank knelt at the base of the cross, transitioning into a worship set featuring staples like “Heart of Worship” and “Goodness of God.” By the time he closed the night with a triumphant performance of “Never Get Used to This” alongside The Figs, it was clear that Forrest Frank is not just performing—he is crafting a transformative movement for a new generation of believers.
