Marcus Lehto’s team worked on the shooter’s campaign, but their efforts were later handed off to Criterion.
Marcus Lehto, the former head of the now-defunct Ridgeline Games, says he is upset that colleagues who “laid the groundwork for the game” were left out of the Battlefield 6 credits.
According to Lehto, his team contributed to the project for between one and two-and-a-half years and helped establish its core foundations. Most of the staff who were let go only appear under the “Special Thanks” section at the end of the credits, and some — including Lehto himself — received no credit at all.
I’m disappointed that many of my former colleagues at Ridgeline Games weren’t properly acknowledged in the Battlefield 6 credits […] Game development is a collaborative effort, and every contributor deserves fair recognition.
Ridgeline Games, founded by Lehto, was responsible for developing the single-player campaign for Battlefield 6. The studio was closed in February 2024, less than two years after it was established, as part of a broad EA restructuring that resulted in roughly 670 layoffs. At that time, EA transferred Ridgeline’s work to Criterion.
