Former Blizzard President Told Xbox Executives to Shut Up and Criticized Their Stance on Exclusives
Mike Ybarra urged Microsoft to take a page from Nintendo.
Mike Ybarra — the former head of Xbox’s gaming division and ex-president of Blizzard — has lately been vocal in criticizing various choices made by Microsoft’s gaming arm.
Not long ago Ybarra argued that the console market can be profitable if companies adopt the right strategy for operating in that space.
Most recently, Ybarra responded to a remark from Xbox president Sarah Bond, who described the idea of exclusives as outdated.
Someone should go and tell Nintendo that the idea of exclusives is outdated.
Ybarra also urged Xbox leadership to ‘stop all the talking’. He made the comment in response to the remarks by Xbox Game Studios president Matt Booty that Microsoft now competes not just with another console, but with the entire entertainment industry.
