Foo Fighters Debut ‘Caught in the Echo’ and ‘Child Actor’ Live on ‘SNL UK’

Foo Fighters bring their signature energy to the SNL UK stage on February 25, 2026.

On Saturday evening (April 25), the Foo Fighters graced the stage of SNL UK, marking their first live performance of songs from their recently unveiled studio album, Your Favorite Toy.

Kicking off the festivities on the new British spin-off of the legendary sketch show, the band delivered a thunderous rendition of “Caught in the Echo,” the lead single and high-octane opening track from their twelfth studio collection.

For their second set, the band pivoted to the more introspective “Child Actor.” Found on the latter half of the record, the track finds Dave Grohl grappling with the surreal nature of lifelong public scrutiny. Though Grohl rose to fame in his early twenties with Nirvana, he adopts the poignant metaphor of a seasoned child star to reflect on the pressures of the spotlight. With lyrics like, “I was a child actor, a face on a wall,” and a desperate, recurring refrain of “Turn the cameras off,” the performance offered a rare, vulnerable glimpse into the frontman’s relationship with global celebrity.

The episode, hosted by the charismatic Nicola Coughlan, featured a comedic highlight involving Grohl himself. In a backstage sketch, Jimmy Fallon nudged a starstruck Coughlan to approach the rock icon with a request for a best-friend pact, cheekily noting, “We’re live. He has to say yes.”

Your Favorite Toy serves as the successor to the band’s acclaimed 2023 outing, But Here We Are, which impressively debuted within the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Fans eager to see the band live can catch them on tour when they hit the road starting April 28 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
