Florida Overwatch group will honour Parkland victims on this weekend’s matches

Florida Mayhem will honour the Stoneman Douglas group of their Overwatch League matches this weekend within the wake of the college taking pictures on February 14, wherein 17 folks have been killed and 14 extra injured.

In an announcement on Twitter, the group say that they “will come to the stage this week wearing patches” honouring the Stoneman Douglas group, and that “everyone in our organization has been touched by the impact of the act and the strength of those affected.” The assertion goes on to say that “as proud representatives of Florida, [Mayhem] wish to demonstrate our support and promote continued positive outreach” inside the Overwatch group at giant.

The group’s CEO Ben Spoont, who himself is a local of South Florida, stated that the organisation “felt a need to try to honor not only the victims but also the message and passion that the community has since voiced.” In honour of the complete group, Spoont says that the group is “proud to wear the Stoneman Douglas patch to bring both awareness and sense of community healing to all.”
