The animated series “The Boys: Diabolical” fell short of Amazon’s expectations.

The animated spin-off of The Boys, subtitled Diabolical, has been officially cancelled after a single season. Creator Eric Kripke told The Wrap that Amazon opted not to greenlight the project for a follow-up season.

“I don’t think Diabolical will get a second season. It’s not for lack of effort — the viewing numbers simply weren’t high enough to justify more episodes. We love the series, and showrunner Simon Racioppa would happily return for another season, but there is no renewal at this time.”

Diabolical was the franchise’s first spin-off presented as an anthology of short animated tales, each rendered in its own distinct visual style.

Meanwhile, the main series The Boys is approaching its conclusion: the fifth season will be the final one and is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2026. Kripke says audiences can expect a full-scale war between the Supes and Butcher’s crew.
