The Witcher franchise continues to broaden across media — with a new season on the way and Ciri set to star in an upcoming video game — and now Dark Horse Comics is expanding Geralt’s world further. In an exclusive reveal to Polygon, the publisher confirmed a brand-new miniseries centered on the White Wolf.

Titled The Witcher: Blood Stone, the four-issue miniseries is a collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and Dark Horse. The story sends Geralt into perilous highlands after reports surface of treasure hunters vanishing inside ancient dwarven workings. Villagers whisper of a horned predator stalking the miners, but no wounds or tracks point to an obvious attack. With scarce clues, Geralt must probe the mines’ dark corridors — and quickly learns that some secrets are best left buried.

The creative team includes writer Daniel Freedman (Birdking, Kali), letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (Kill All Immortals, The Witcher: The Bear and the Butterfly), colorist Roman Titov (Cyberpunk: 2077: Big City Dreams), and artist Pius Bak (Godfather of Hell, Slightly Exaggerated). Pius Bak provides the main covers, while variants come from Gigi Cavenago (The Magic Order, Dylan Dog), Axel Sauerwald (concept art and illustration), and Patrycja Podkościelny (illustration and graphic design).

Daniel Freedman said he’s honored to contribute to the long-running saga, adding that writing Geralt allowed him to explore “the bloodier, more human side of monstrosity” — a theme he relishes revisiting.

Marcin Zwierzchowski, Editor, Writer and Franchise Creative at CD PROJEKT RED, praised Freedman’s work and the collaboration with Bak and Titov, calling the team’s effort “a compelling meditation on greed and scars that never fully heal.”

The first of four issues of The Witcher: Blood Stone will be available in comic shops on January 28, 2026. Cover price: $4.99.
