Filming of the series “Oil” starring Vasiliev and Asmus has wrapped

Streaming platforms PREMIER and START have officially announced the conclusion of filming for their new original series, “Oil” (Neft).

Set in the provincial town of Shevelevo, the story follows Semyon (Anton Vasilyev), an unlucky local whose life takes a drastic turn after an earthquake causes oil to gush from his well. Alongside his eccentric friend Ulyan (Ivan Dobronravov), Semyon launches an illicit drilling operation, setting off a chain of grim and dangerous consequences for them both.

The series features an ensemble cast, including “Interns” stars Kristina Asmus and Ivan Okhlobystin, as well as Elena Nikolaeva, Roza Khayrullina, and Alexander Gorbatov. Directed by Alexey Shabarov (“Zoo”), the first season consists of eight episodes. An official release date will be announced at a later time.
