Fan remake of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 progresses — beta shown on Unreal Engine
Some fans are taking it upon themselves to refresh classic titles.
Modder Ruppertle has unveiled a new beta of a remake of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, which is being rebuilt on the Unreal Engine.
My aim was to recreate one of my favorite childhood games—preserving its essential visuals, atmosphere, and gameplay—while also using the project to learn the engine itself.
In the 1.03 beta the modder concentrated primarily on Level 3. Early access is currently granted to those who financially backed the project, but once the bugs in 1.03 are resolved it will be released publicly and made available free of charge.
